History Colorado is hosting the Horseshoe Market at three of their regional historic properties this summer! You will be able to hunt for treasures from some the state’s most fantastic vendors and also learn about our state’s great history.

Our first Hit the Road Market is Saturday, June 23rd in Leadville outside of the Healy House and Dexter Cabin and on the grounds of the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum.

Do you collect vintage clothing, furniture, accessories or other quirky treasures? Are you an artist, hand-crafter, or designer and have had a secret dream of selling your stuff? We’re all about makin’ dreams come true (see below). We are currently accepting applications for vendors including and food vendors. Application deadline is a week from today–June 1st. Apply HERE.

The inspiration for the Horseshoe has always been born out of our deep love for Colorado. When we first imagined our markets, we imagined a vintage-themed market in a rugged old mountain town on a slightly dusty street, lined with booths filled with interesting vendors drinking coffee out of tin cups, wearing old cowboy boots showcasing their handmade wares and hand-picked treasures. To now be doing a market in historic Leadville?? Talk about dreams/visions coming true! It is the quintessential old mountain town…

From the Best of the Road, Leadville is “…103 miles west of Denver and part of the Top of the Rockies Scenic and Historic Byway. Once one of America’s richest, longest-lived and bawdiest mining boomtowns, 70 square blocks of the downtown area has been designated as a National Historic Landmark of Victorian architecture.”

Why not take a road trip and join us in Leadville on June 23rd and mine for some amazing treasures! Not sure how to get there, what to do, where to stay or where to go on the way? Well, we have help for you! We are incredibly thrilled that our friends over at Colorado Culture are our official Hit the Road “tour guides!” Colorado Culture is website dedicated to celebrating all that makes Colorado unique–including the weird, wacky and wonderful!

Colorado Culture has created some fantastic road trip itineraries for either taking a day trip or a weekend trip to Leadville. Watch for our first Road Trip Guide from Colorado Culture next week!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
