Vintage Lifestyle: Men’s Vintage!

By April 18, 2012Blog

The Spring Horseshoe Market is coming up on May 5th! We know it’s an opportunity for all of you gals to get together and do some serious shopping. But we will also have tons of great stuff for the boys! We will be posting about what guys can find at the Horseshoe next week. In the meantime, check out this sweet blog from Dingaling Vintage about men’s vintage finds!

I didn’t find my husband at the thrift store -but wouldn’t it make a great toast if I had? “To my best ‘score’…”

I do, however, find his fashions at Goodwill, ARC, Unique and on Etsy. He wears a uniform to work ( http://www.olliesbarbershop.com/ ) so he really enjoys dressing dapper on his days off. Saturday evening we went on a “date” to as many Goodwill stores as we could (1/2 off day!) and scored a few really great pieces for his wardrobe.

Check out this adorable er.. manly outfit:

Thrifted: Arrow button up $2.99, Puritan knit sweater $2.49, Dockers pants $4.99, Boxer belt buckle $4, Allen Edmonds shoes $8.99, green tie $.99

New: Argyle socks, Target $2.99

Total: $27.44

A quick fix to neutralize garments with funky smells: Vodka. Thats right! Pour a little vodka into an bottle (I use my “misto”!) and spritz lightly over your garment -be sure to always spot check first.

Clean freaks: I’m bustin’ out my inner “Real Simple” next Wednesday and will have the best tried and true cleaning tips for vintage clothing! -Stay tuned!
