MODesTEA has been a tea specialty shop in the Northwest Denver, Berkeley District for four years. It has grown from a tiny 150 square foot operation with 20 teas to a 1,300 square foot with over 90 tea offerings. Each tea is carefully hand selected and crafted. In the summer of 2014 they are expecting another boom as they launch two new collections. Each will be their own exclusive specialty blends. The first collection to launch will be the “ Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre Collection” that is inspired by the famous actors and actresses that once graced one of Denver’s most historic stages. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the theatre. The second launch will be for a premium “Spa” Collection. This collection will feature our most luxurious teas, herbs and botanicals.
Besides a love for tea, owner Tracy Frickey is an artist and recently added T Gallery to her space. Each month a new art exhibit opens for the Tennyson First Friday Artwalk. Exhibits are of local, national and international artists. Currently, the gallery has on exhibit Denver native Naomi Haverland’s paintings. Haverland’s solo exhibit, “A Mother’s Muse”, recently featured in Westword is a bright and bold display of her ability to capture wry human expressions on a large scale.
