arubymoon LOGO

I create unique gratitude and grief flags, inspired by Tibetan Prayer Flags, that are designed to help people connect, inspire them to create, and to celebrate and honor life’s events and milestones. My handmade flags are created from cotton fabrics in a variety of styles, patterns and colors and permanent inks. I finish the flags with block prints made from with my original hand-carved blocks. They are designed to celebrate weddings, birthdays, graduations, memorial services, baby showers, garden plantings, and more. Additionally I create flag kits so folks can collectively make their own sets which are especially popular for families/groups to celebrate special occasions. The best and most rewarding part of my work are the “ flag stories” I am honored to hear; like the wedding parties creating flags for a bride and groom, co-workers writing words of support and inspiration on flags for a friend battling cancer, or a neighbor creating a set to remember a lost pet.

I love what I do, bringing celebration, comfort, color and inspiration to the world!

I make useful goods (aprons, tea towels, napkins, coasters, zippered pouches and pillows) that are simple and lovely. I design and construct everything but the tea towels using durable cotton canvas. The designs I create have a modern feel yet invoke the vintage. I “illustrate with thread” drawing with my sewing machine to create original imagery. I love to play with color using contrasting threads. As well, I design flour sack tea towels, 100% cotton, extra large and absorbent. I think a handmade object should feel and look handmade, and by that I mean made with natural materials, made well, constructed with durability, and have a story. My designs are clean and simple, made in Boulder.

InkLounge-Logo-2014-CMYK

Ink Lounge is a screenprinting studio created by graphic designers Stu and Nicky Alden. An experiment that began as a playground away from their computers and to get back in touch with pencils, pens, ink and paper; has grown into a full time 3,700 square foot screenprinting studio with staff.

Walk through their studio doors and a wall of smiling faces greets you; folks of all ages proudly holding items they have printed during a workshop. Ink Lounge offers screenprint lessons for all abilities and they hold workshops at their studio (for you, your friends or business), at schools around the state and even on location. Taking a workshop is just the beginning. Not only can you return to schedule studio time, you can buy all supplies needed to print on your own, purchase a screenprinted item from other local artists or the owners, and even hire Ink Lounge to print and/or design for you. You will often find screenprint art openings at Ink Lounge too, including:

DiversiTEE: A screenprint art exhibit of T-shirts & Fabric

We’re thrilled to partnership with the Horseshoe Market to create the Horseshoe Vendor Scholarship Program. This program is all about helping small business owners kick start their dreams! In order for a vendor to be eligible for the scholarship they must be brand new to the Horseshoe Market, are emerging in the maker scene and wowed the judges with their creativity, inspired designs and interesting stories.
